§ Overview

PogChamps 3 was Chess.com's third celebrity chess tournament — and it became the biggest chess streaming event of all time. I caught an early Twitch streamer leak that a third edition was being planned, immediately brought it to GRIP6 leadership, and turned it into a same-day pitch meeting with Chess.com.

From there I owned the partnership end-to-end: structuring the deal that made GRIP6 the presenting sponsor, organizing creator integrations, and then building and running the multi-channel campaign that wrapped around the tournament.

The event itself featured MrBeast, Logic, Rainn Wilson, xQc, Pokimane, Ludwig, and Rubius, set a chess streaming record at 375.1K peak concurrent viewers, and expanded the brand into Spanish- and French-speaking audiences for the first time.

§ What I did

  • 01Identified the opportunity from a Twitch streamer leak before it was public.
  • 02Booked and led the same-day Chess.com pitch meeting that opened the door.
  • 03Negotiated and structured GRIP6's presenting sponsorship of the tournament.
  • 04Built and ran the multi-channel campaign across YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, Meta, Amazon, and Reddit.
  • 05Drove 28M+ brand impressions and an all-time chess streaming record at 375.1K peak viewers.
